Mary Terese S. Dugan


Mary Terese S. Dugan, of Center Valley, Pa., died unexpectedly but peacefully from cardiac arrest on Sunday, March 11, 2007 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Mary and Dr. Edward Michael Mullin Jr., with whom she resided. She was the widow of Timothy Parks Dugan, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage in October 1988. Born on September 22, 1913 in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Jr. and Mary (Mulvey) Scherberger. A registered nurse, she was a graduate of the 1936 class of Georgetown University School of Nursing. She was a resident of Washington, D.C. , New York City and Garden City, Long Island, N.Y. before moving to the Lehigh Valley. Throughout the years, she was an active church and community volunteer. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Salisbury Township.

Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law; sons, Commander Timothy Parks Dugan Jr., husband of Lorraine (Kaziun), of Annapolis, Md., Joseph Lawrence Dugan, husband of Carol (Levesque), of St. Albans, Vt. and Robert Frederick Dugan, husband of Donna (Begtrup), of Royal Palm Beach, Fla. Additional survivors include, grandchildren, Lisa Pauline, wife of Bruce Wardle, of Eagle River, Alaska, Allison Parks, wife of Robert Hantske of Annapolis, Md., Kathleen Parks, wife of Dr. Michael Savarese of Roxbury, Conn., Lt. Cdr. Elizabeth Terese, wife of Dr. Brian Bowes, of Orange Park, Fla., Jill Marie, wife of Craig Burns, of North Andover, Mass., Edward Parks Mullin, husband of Jennifer (Plaster), of Chicago, Ill., Karen Terese Dugan, wife of Sarab Mattes, of Seattle, Wash., Robert Joseph Dugan and Nicholas Parks Dugan, both of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Elizabeth Mary Mullin, wife of Lauren Duffy, of South Hadley, Mass. and Timothy Michael Mullin of Center Valley; grandson-in-law, Lt. Cdr. Sean Patrick Boyle, husband of Yuko of San Diego, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Melissa Terese and Aaron Paul Wardle, Kathryn Lorraine, Benjamin Robert and Amelia Parks Hantske, Timothy Nelson, Julian Dugan and Lillian Adele Bowes, James Joseph and Jacob Patrick Burns, Saia Ming Mattes Dugan and Saul Elessar Mattes Dugan; sister, Frederica Hartnett; brother, Richard Scherberger, nieces and nephews; many dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Timothy Parks Dugan III, Teresa Anne Mullin and Susan Patricia Mullin Boyle; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Adele Bowes; daughter-in-law, Susan (Novellino) Dugan; sisters, Sylvia Creed and Phyllis Scherberger; brothers, Frederick Scherberger III, Joseph Scherberger and Robert Scherberger.

Services
: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, Pa. Call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown and 9:30-10:15 a.m. Saturday in the church. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
